The BBC deemed the actual song they were playing ("We Reject the Pabloite Notion of Deformed Workers' States") to be too subversive, so they mixed in an inferior studio recording instead - hence the lip-synching. I think the Sid bit's meant to be a pisstake of the ultra-right wing Catholic documentary Visions of Medjugorje
